Promoting Access to New Media

The Internet and Free Speech
Universal Deployment of New Technologies
Per-Minute Charges on Internet Use
Apartment Dwellers' Ability to Choose
Public Access Programming on DBS

Media Access Project does not merely work to increase democratic discourse and universal access for every citizen to the electronic media of today. MAP also fights to promote universal, equal access to emerging and future technologies.

For example, MAP protects the rights of citizens to speak over new technologies such as the Internet and Direct Broadcast Satellite, or "DBS," and promotes the accessibility and affordability of these technologies. This will allow the bright vision of the future of communications - where everyone has the same ability to speak and to receive a full range of information - to become a reality.
