MAP filing shows Comcast waived its right to challenge BitTorrent Complaint process two years ago.

Posted: Tuesday July 22, 2008

MAP filing shows Comcast waived its right to challenge BitTorrent Complaint process two years ago.

In a filing made with the Federal Communications Commission today, MAP pointed out that the FCC informed Comcast when it granted Comcast’s and Time Warner’s application to divide Adelphia Communications, almost two years ago today, that the Commission had jurisdiction to adjudicate complaints alleging that Comcast or any other broadband service provider “is engaged in willfully blocking and degrading” any content or application. The Commission also explicitly invited Free Press and any other party to file a complaint “if further evidence arises” that Comcast or other provider engaged in behavior that violated the principles set out in the Internet Policy Statement.
