July 26, 2007 MAP Senior Vice President Harold Feld participated in a live blog session on Open Left.com regarding public airwaves and communications infrastructure. The session was part of a joint effort between Open Left and Senator Dick Durbin to organize debates concerning the development of a national broadband policy.

Feld on FTC Broadband Competition Panel
February 13 - 14, 2007 Harold Feld, MAP's Senior Vice President, will be a panelist at the FTC's upcoming Broadband Connectivity Competition Policy conference. The conference will bring together experts from business, government, and the
technology sector, consumer advocates, and academics to explore
competition and consumer protection issues relating to broadband
Internet access, including debate on "network neutrality."

Schwartzman to Speak at Taipei Digital Cities Conference
June 28-30, 2006 Andrew Jay Schwartzman, MAP's President and CEO, will speak at the 2006 Taipei Digital Cities Conference. The conference will convene industrial leaders, professionals, and public officials to shed a light on the important wireless communication issues and to experience the mobile convenience in the single largest wireless city. The conference will address social impacts, business models, and regulation of mobile communication. Mr. Schwartzman will speak about "Broadband Policies and Regulatory Reform."

Feld Gives Keynote at EDUCAUSE Conference
April 26, 2006 Harold Feld, MAP's Senior Vice President, gave the keynote address at EDUCAUSE's 2006 Policy Conference, Technology Policy for a Flattening World. Mr. Feld's speech focused on the ways that concerned citizens have the power to help policymakers craft sensible policies that will spur the continued growth and societal benefits of the Internet.

Schwartzman a Panelist at Broadband Capacity Conference
April 21, 2006 MAP's President and CEO, Andrew Jay Schwartzman, was a panelist at Columbia Institute for Tele-Information's (CITI) Exploring the Next Generation of Broadband Capacity conference. The conference addressed the many ways that increased broadband capacity would impact broadband utilization, competition, investments, infrastructure, applications and content. Mr. Schwartzman was on the panel discussing the policy implications of a new "ultrabroadband."

Feld Participates in the National Summit for Community Wireless
March 31-April 2, 2006 MAP's Senior Vice President, Harold Feld, was a panelist at the National Summit for Community Wireless in St. Charles, Missouri. The annual Summit is the largest gathering of community wireless allies and focuses on connecting technologists, policy experts, and implementers, and encouraging participants to discuss the great variety of challenges and opportunities facing the community wireless movement.

Schwartzman On Localism Panel at the 2006 CommLaw Symposium
March 28, 2006 MAP's President and CEO, Andrew Jay Schwartzman, was a panelist at the 2006 CommLaw Symposium entitled "Bringing American Up to Speed: Delivering on our Broadband Future Without Sacrificing Local Identity." His panel discussed ways to prevent globalism from drowning out local voices.
Feld A Panelist at Network Neutrality Seminar
March 23, 2006 MAP's Senior Vice President, Harold Feld, participated on a panel hosted by the Federal Communications Bar Association that discussed the topic of "network neutrality." Specifically, the discussion addressed what net neutrality obligations might be placed on broadband providers, the role of states and localities, and whether net neutrality legislation is necessary to protect Internet subscribers.

February 20, 2006 The International Federation of Journalists hosted a panel discussion in Brussels featuring MAP President and CEO, Andrew Jay Schwartzman, as the keynote speaker. The panel of media watchdog groups debated the impact of globalization and ownership regulation on media quality, freedom of expression and workers rights around the world.
